Self Defense poster

The official Self Defense poster! The director, my friend Emilie, liked the last one but wanted the title to be larger. I struggled with this for a bit because I liked the composition so much. But I got over myself, moved some text around in photoshop, and here she is. Now imagine this diag board size. It's going to be epic.

The image was done with pen/brush and ink on Rives BFK (I think. It was the biggest piece of good paper I had in my printmaking drawer). The shadowy parts were done when the brush was pretty much dry, giving it this great, somewhat uneven texture. Inspirations: Egon Schiele and Ralph Steadman.
